Affordable, Forested, and Family-Friendly.
Kingwood. Just thirty miles northeast of Beltway 8 and downtown Houston right off Interstate 69, you’ll find residents ensconced in the privacy and coziness of Kingwood, a 14,000-acre shaded oasis with homes and commercial properties tucked away in the woods. Known as “The Livable Forest,” Kingwood is a stark contrast from the rest of Houston. Surrounded by nature, residents can walk, jog, and rollerblade through its green belts and scenic trails without crossing traffic.
Another reason why home buyers are drawn to Kingwood is the availability of affordable homes. Here, you can still find homes starting in the $100,000s. But you can also find luxury properties priced well over $1 million. Kingwood is one of the first master planned communities established in the United States, and it continues to grow with new villages and commercial real estate. Kingwood’s location off Interstate 69 makes it easily accessible to Beltway 8, Bush Intercontinental airport, and downtown Houston.
Humble. Humble is also northeast of Beltway 8 and downtown Houston, neighboring Kingwood to the south. Just like Kingwood, these communities are characterized by natural beauty and friendly neighbors. Both neighborhoods are no more than ten-miles away from Interstate 69 (Eastex Freeway) and FM 1960. Most parts of Humble give off a small town feel with spacious lots, small streets, and older establishments. But the newly developed parts of Humble, such as the master planned community of Fall Creek, offer modern homes and amenities including golf courses, walking trails, fitness centers, and sports complexes.
Atascosita. Six miles east of Humble is Atascocita which borders Lake Houston, a beautiful manmade lake where residents can enjoy fishing and water sports. Homes for sale in Atascosita include older ranch homes, high quality resales, new construction in well-manicured subdivisions, and even country club estates. Buyers are drawn to Atascosita for its affordable homes and proximity to the waterfront.
